Nofollow from Home is a WordPress 2.0.5 plugin which adds rel=nofollow to all external links only in your posts, and only on your home page. It means these same links will not have this attribute when you post slips onto the 2nd page, or when displayed in Categories or Archives pages, or when the post is displayed as a single post.

Why do this? To be very brief, Google doesn’t count links that have “rel=nofollow” attribute. It means that all external links on your home page that do NOT have this attribute will get a share of your PageRank which distributes among all external links of a page. (If you don’t know what I’m talking about here, you most likely don’t care for this plugin, and don’t need to waste your time reading the rest of this post. Spend your valuable time better - read my blog :) you just might learn something new about Russia).

Before I continue, I want to make one thing clear: I totally agree that back links to the sites we use to get usefull information should be open and free. That’s exactly why this plugin does NOT save rel=nofollow to the database, and keeps them open on all pages but one — your Home page. I also believe in following: We spend a lot of time and effort to make our websites visible to public. And when we decide to make another website, or when our friends decide to settle in the cyberspace, we have a right to help ourselves or our friends to become visible on the internet.

If you have links on your home page (like I do) to your other projects, or to your friends’ projects, or just to people who were nice enough to place a link to your site, you’d want to maximize the weight of PR value you’re passing on to these sites, because you too are a nice person, right? Keep your home to yourself and your friends. The other links can still feel you hospitality on your other pages.

Usage:

  1. Edit domain name (change to your domain name) in sochi_parse_external_links
  2. Upload setnofollow.php to plugins location (wp-content/plugins/)
  3. Activate in administration panel

Nofollow from Home — это дополнительный программный модуль (или плагин/plugin) для блогов на движке WordPress 2.0.5 . Вполне вероятно он работает и на других версиях 2.0, и может даже на 2.1, но я пробовал только на 2.0.5. Единственно что делает данный плагин, это добавляет rel=nofollow для всех внешних ссылок только в ваших статьях, и только на главной странице. Это значит что те же ссылки не будут иметь rel=nofollow когда статья сползёт на 2ю страницу, а так же на страницах категорий, архивов, и при отдельном просмотре статьи.

Прежде чем продожить я хочу сказать следующее: я потностью согласен с тем, что на хорошие ресурсы надо ставить нормальные ссылки и безвозмездно, особенно если это источники с которых мы черпаем информацию для создания контента на своём сайте. И именно поэтому этот плагин НЕ записывает nofollow в базу данных, чтобы все ссылки которые мы сами, добровольно ставим оставались открытыми на всех страницах, кроме одной - домашней. Почему не на домашней? Раскрутка сайта для представления его массам занимает кучу нашего времени и усилий. И я считаю что нет ничего плохого в том, чтобы использовать свой сайт в разумных пределах для помощи себе или друзьям в своих усилиях. Мы имеем на это право.

Использование:

  1. В фунуции sochi_parse_external_links() найдите текст “sochi-travel.info” и поменяте на имя своего домена.
  2. Залейте файл setnofollow.php в папку с плагинами (wp-content/plugins/)
  3. Активизируйте а административной панели
